VA.gov Data (Chrome Extension)

When you use our Chrome extension and choose to sync your data, we collect information from your VA.gov account including:

• Disability claims and their status
• Disability ratings and percentages
• Decision letters (PDF documents)
• Service history information

Important: We only access this data when you explicitly click "Sync" in the extension. We do not automatically scrape or monitor your VA.gov account.

Uploaded Documents

When you upload VA decision letters or other documents through our web application, we store these files securely to provide analysis and tracking features.

Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:

• Device and browser information
• IP address
• Pages visited and features used
• Date and time of access

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Analyze your VA decision letters and claims data

• Identify potential secondary conditions and appeal opportunities

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) infrastructure with industry-standard encryption:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
• Access to data is restricted and logged
• We use Firebase Authentication for secure user management

Your VA decision letters and documents are stored in secure cloud storage with access limited to your authenticated account.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (Google Cloud, Firebase) to host and operate the Service
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
• Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of ClaimReady, our users, or others
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified)

Chrome Extension Permissions

Our Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

• activeTab: To interact with VA.gov pages when you click Sync
• storage: To save your login credentials and sync preferences locally
• identity: To enable "Sign in with Google" authentication
• scripting: To read claim data from VA.gov pages
• sidePanel: To display the extension interface
• notifications: To alert you of important updates
• cookies (optional): To maintain your VA.gov session during sync
• Host permissions for VA.gov: To access your VA.gov claims data when you initiate a sync

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export: Download your data in a portable format
• Opt-out: Uninstall the extension or delete your account at any time
